SPARK: Igniting Faith, Family, and Revival

Family Revival: Roles, Warfare, and Prophetic Gifts

Maria Termotto-Horwitz Season 1 Episode 3

Have you ever noticed the invisible forces at work in your family gatherings? The spiritual dynamics that shape relationships, conversations, and tensions? Today we're diving deep into the realm of family revival and the prophetic gifts God has placed within you to transform your home.

Every family contains a unique spiritual ecosystem with members playing different roles - the skeptic who questions faith, the prophet who speaks uncomfortable truth, the intercessor who prays behind the scenes, or sometimes the Jezebel spirit that manipulates and controls. Recognizing these patterns is the first step toward breaking generational curses and bringing divine healing. The exciting revelation? God strategically places "light bringers" within families - individuals specially called to stand in the gap and lead their loved ones back to Christ.

I share my personal encounters with spiritual warfare, including a powerful confrontation with someone operating under a controlling spirit who tried to shame my expression of faith. Rather than shrinking back, I wore my "Blessed Life Ever" shirt the next day, refusing to let my light be dimmed. This kind of boldness is what God is calling forth in this season. The testimonies will strengthen your faith - from prophetic words that dramatically came to pass, to miraculous home sales after repentance, to supernatural provision of exactly what was needed. The pattern is clear: when you move, God moves. Favor follows faithfulness.

Are you ready to discover your divine assignment in your family? To develop the prophetic gifts the Holy Spirit has given you? Take time this week to identify your spiritual role and ask God how to use it for revival. Remember, your light is needed in your family more than ever. Be salty, stay lit, and watch as God transforms your home from a battleground into holy ground.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

Hi friends, it's Maria with Spark, and today's episode is one I know is going to hit deep for many of you. We're talking about family revival, the different roles people play in a family, the warfare that comes with those roles and the prophetic gifts the Holy Spirit has placed in us to bring light, healing and change. I want you to picture your own family for a moment, healing and change. I want you to picture your own family for a moment. Every family has its dynamics some healthy, some messy and some straight up spiritual battlegrounds. But the truth is God has called you to be a light in that very place. Let's go through some common spiritual roles you might see in a family, and these aren't just personality traits, they're often spiritual assignments or battles.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

The atheist or skeptic, they doubt, mock or dismiss God. Think of Thomas before. You saw God's wounds. Sometimes they're running from God because of pain. The chosen one, or light bringer this is the one God raises up to bring the family back to Christ. Joseph in the Old Testament was like this rejected at first, but ultimately the one God used to save everyone.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

The prophet, bold truth-teller, often misunderstood like Jeremiah or Elijah. The scoffer or mocking spirit, proverbs warms about them. Those who laugh at faith and belittle God's work. The Jezebel spirit controls, manipulates, seduces, opposes God's order, operates through intimidation and false accusation. The Ahab spirit passive, avoids confrontation, enabling Jezebel to operate unchecked, intercessor praise behind the scenes, holding up the family spiritually, like Anna and Luke too. The divider sows gossip, jealousy and offense. Proverbs says God hates this. And the builder, the encourager, the peacemaker, who creates space for God to work.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

I want you to think right now what role do you see yourself in? And, even deeper, what role is God calling you into? I have personally encountered this in a very real way. A few years ago I was on a couple's trip. I had just gotten married and I was in such a joyful season wearing my Blessed Mama shirt as a newly pregnant woman, and I earlier, before I got married, I wore my bride fanny pack, just living in the overflow of God's blessings. Everything was sparkly. I was wearing all bright colors, but one day in the pool, a woman operating under a Jezebel spirit cornered me. She told me I should stop wearing those shirts because they were drawing too much attention. She tried to shame me and snuff out my light. The next day I didn't shrink back. I wore my Blessed Life Ever shirt. She came at me again and this time I called it out. I said my shirts and family packs glorify God, but you showing your body in a way that's immodest goes directly against scripture. That's the thing about Jezebel she hates boldness and holiness, but we're in a generation where God is exposing the hypocrites and the Pharisees.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

Now let's talk about prophetic gifts. First, corinthians 12 lists the gifts of the spirit. Prophetic gifts. 1 Corinthians 12 lists the gifts of the Spirit Prophecy, teaching, healing, miracles, discernment, wisdom, knowledge, tongues, interpretation. Ephesians 4 also mentions apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers given to equip the church.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

How do you find your gift? First you pray and ask God directly. You pay attention to where you naturally bear fruit, and then you receive confirmation from other believers and by stepping out in small acts of obedience and you see how the Holy Spirit moves through you, how to grow your gift. You stay rooted in the word. I say three chapters a day. Keeps the devil and sin away. You surround yourself with spirit-filled believers. So we're talking small groups, home church life groups. And then you obey quickly when God prompts you. So you get an idea and you do it and you use your gift. Often it crows with use like a muscle. It and you use your gift often it grows with use like a muscle.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

So right now, I believe God wants to awaken the chosen ones and families, the ones who will stand in the gap, break generational curses and bring revival. Let's pray, father, in the name of Jesus, I lift up every listener. Right now, I break the power of the Jezebel spirit over their lives and over their families. I silence the voice of the accuser and every mocking spirit. Lord, I called forth the Josephs, the Esthers, the Gideons, the chosen ones you have set apart, to bring their family back to you, release courage, boldness and unwavering faith, fill them with the gifts of the Holy Spirit in full measure prophecy, teaching, healing, discernment, wisdom, miracles. Let their light shine in the darkness and let their families encounter your presence in undeniable ways. We declare family revival in Jesus's mighty name, amen. If this episode spoke to you, take a moment this week to write down your role and your gift and ask God how to use it for your family's revival, and if you have a testimony of how God is moving in your family, I'd love to hear it. Send me a message, share this episode and keep pressing into your calling.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

For myself personally, I can say that I have always been drawn to the prophetic gift and now, reflecting on my life, I see that it was always there. It started, I think, one of my earlier prophecies when I was 20 years old. My uncle was a mocker and every time I was in his presence he mocked me. He was not about the Bible, he was not about prayer, he was not about the word of God. And back in 2012, remember the whole 12, 12, 12, end of the world, mayan calendar. Well, at Christmas time, he sees me in the kitchen at my grandma's house and says, hey, 2012 happened. Came and went the kitchen at my grandma's house and says, hey, 2012 happened. Came and went and look at this. We are still here. And I looked at him and I'm like it doesn't matter when the end of the world is. All that matters is when your end is.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

You can get into a car accident and everything is over, and I left it at that. And I kid you not. Seven days later, he's leaving Rachel's strip club with drugs and alcohol in his system. He's cheating on his wife. He just texted his wife. I'm sorry, I love you. He's coming home on 95, gets off at PGA jumps the median, hits a tree, is thrown from the car and dies on impact.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

This guy had everything going for him. He visited 50 countries, he owned illustrative properties, he was living up golden boy of the county and his death brought a huge wave of shock through the county. And when you mess with God's anointed, god does not play, he moves quick. And I did not mean to declare that over him, but listen, I was speaking by the spirit. And recently I told my friend who didn't know what was first get married or sell her condo or move, and I said listen, you move, god moves. So she's like, okay, let's put my place on the market.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

We scheduled her photos for that Friday and, I kid you not, she was approached by not one but two people in her neighborhood that wanted to buy her condo. And keep in mind, there's a big, hefty assessment coming up and there's multiple condos on the market that have been on the market for months and are not moving at a price lower than what we got. And I was singing over her all cash, quick, close, no inspection, anointed buyer. And guess what? Her offer was exactly what we prayed for All cash, quick, close, no inspection, anointed buyer In this market with high interest rates and everyone's struggling. That is amazing. And get this. It gets better.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

She was worried because the buyer wanted to buy her place fully furnished, because they loved the way she decorated, and she was afraid of selling her furniture to them because she'll have no furniture. And I told her listen, god has not brought you here to leave you here. If you trust him, give him space to surprise you with furniture. And I kid you not. Next day when she came over to look at properties, I kid you not. Next day when she came over to look at properties, the house she selected not only was it below her budget and brand new, but it and the builder was giving a $35,000 incentive toward closing costs and buying down the interest rate to 5.4%. And this was the only house that included not only the washer, dryer and fridge because usually they don't include that but ninety thousand dollars worth of brand new designer furniture. That just so happened. They took from a model that was under construction, they moved to this house and was selling it just turnkey. So she literally just brings her clothes and her toothbrush and she's moving in in a week.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

Like God is good. God is showing off big time in her life and she made up this little song, playing off Forrest Frank. God is good all the time. You think he ain't, he'll change your mind. So I just saw her yesterday. We recorded her testimony. I can't wait to share it. I just saw her yesterday. We recorded her testimony. I can't wait to share it. Just God is on the move.

Maria Termotto-Horwitz:

What Joseph did in secret, god revealed in public and he gave him a platform of not just a political power or not just a spiritual power. He made him prince of Egypt, second to only Pharaoh, ruler of the world. God elevated him so high that when the whole world was going through a famine, they had to go through Joseph to live. Joseph became their Jesus and just like how we have to go through Jesus to have eternal life, everyone in the world at that time had to go through Joseph in order to get bread to feed their families. Like God is good, god is good, and as long as we repent and believe the gospel, we shall be saved. As long as we repent and believe the gospel, we shall be saved. Man, it's been such an honor and a pleasure to pour into you today, and this is Maria with Spark. Remember your light is needed in your family more than ever. Shine it bright, do not let the darkness snuff you out. Be salty, stay lit, keep the faith and God bless.
