The Lion Roars: Breaking Free from Darkness and Control
The darkest corners of human experience often remain unspoken – especially when they involve family systems warped by cultic control and ritualistic abuse. This episode pulls back the curtain on these realities not to glorify evil, but to expose it to the healing light of truth.
A survivor shares her harrowing journey growing up in a satanic family system, enduring unspeakable trauma including ritual abuse and the sacrifice of her own child. Rather than turning away from such darkness, we examine how Scripture acknowledges these realities from Genesis through the prophets. More importantly, we witness how Jesus appeared to her as the Lion of Judah, roaring against her abusers and beginning a process of supernatural healing.
My own testimony reveals a different kind of control system – one built on manipulation, isolation, and twisted spiritual authority. These patterns of mind control thrive on secrecy and silence, creating false realities that can imprison families for generations. Yet when truth speaks, these systems begin to crumble.
We explore five biblical strategies for breaking free from cult control: destroying ties to idols, embracing God's truth, shining your light, staying in community, and using worship as warfare. For survivors, sharing testimony becomes more than storytelling – it's spiritual warfare that pushes back darkness and creates pathways for others to find freedom.

Welcome back to the show. Today's episode is heavy but it carries a message of hope. We're going to talk about the reality of satanic cults, the abuse and control that can even happen in families, and how Jesus, the Lion of Judah, roars into our stories with freedom and healing. This is not about glorifying evil. It's about exposing it, the way the Bible does, and shining the light of Jesus so others can walk free the reality of darkness. A close friend of mine grew up in a satanic family system. She remembers abuse, manipulation and rituals that no child should ever face. When she became pregnant by her own father, she was taken into a forest, surrounded by men, abused, induced into labor. She has flashbacks of her baby being harmed and thrown into the fire. It's heartbreaking, but the Bible doesn't hide that such evil exists. Leviticus 18.21 says Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molech. 2 Kings 21.6 says King Manasseh practiced sorcery and sacrificed his own son in the fire. Jeremiah 32.35 says God said his people sacrificed their sons and daughters, something he never commanded, nor did it enter my mind. Ezekiel 16, 20 says God rebuked Israel. You took your sons and daughters whom you bore to Me and sacrificed them as food to the idols. And Psalm 106, 37 says they sacrificed their sons and daughters to false gods. They shed innocent blood, the blood, sacrifice their sons and daughters to false gods. They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters. From genesis to the prophets, scripture exposes the same pattern secrecy, bloodshed, idolatry and control. And every time god responds with judgment on evil and deliverance for his people. Years later, my friend had a vision of that same forest, but this time Jesus showed up, not as a distant figure, but as the lion of Judah. He roared, tore the power from the abusers and defended the baby. This vision echoes scripture. Genesis 49.9 says Exodus 14,. In Daniel 3, shadrach, meshach and Abednego were thrown into the fire, but a fourth man, like the Son of God, appeared with them and they came out unharmed. And Isaiah 31, verse 4, says this is who God is. He steps into the fire, he roars against the enemy, he defends his children. Her daughter was later named Selah, meaning pause, rest, dwell with God Out of ashes. God is giving peace my story.
Speaker 1:I also grew up close to someone whose brokenness shaped an entire household. After tragedy struck, his grief twisted into control. For hours each day he would speak and the family had to sit in silence. He told us he carried a divine role in the book of Revelation. He spoke of his greatness but never allowed questions or opinions. If someone tried to speak, they were silenced. If someone tried to step out, they were accused of abandonment. Contact with loved ones outside the home was cut off. Secrecy was enforced For years, lies were repeated until they became a false reality for us.
Speaker 1:We grew up believing our mother's death was her weakness, only to later learn the truth. She carried an unbearable burden for as long as she could. This is the nature of mind control it twists truth, isolates people and feeds on silence. But the Bible says Satan is the father of lies in John 8, 44. Lies may last for a season, but they cannot stand against the light of truth forever. Modern Echoes of Ancient Darkness. Light of truth forever. Modern echoes of ancient darkness.
Speaker 1:The pattern of evil in scripture and in these testimonies still echo today. Hospitals and companies profit from placentas, umbilical cord blood and circumcision tissue. Some is used for medicine, but much is sold into the cosmetic and beauty industry. Celebrities have even bragged about using creams made from foreskin tissue to stay young forever. This is the same lie the serpent told in Eden, you will not surely die. You will be like God.
Speaker 1:Genesis 3, 4-5. Promises of immortality, power and beauty, but at the cost of exploiting what God made sacred. The prophet Ezekiel condemned such corruption In you. They accept bribes to shed blood. You take interest and make a profit from the poor. You extort unjust gain from your neighbors and you forget me, declares the sovereign Lord. Ezekiel 22, 12.
Speaker 1:If you want to know where darkness hides, just follow the money breaking free and shining light. So how do we break free from cults, control and systems of darkness? The Bible gives us a path. Number one destroy ties to idols. Exodus 32,. Moses burned the golden calf. We must remove items and symbols tied to bondage. I recently did this again and going through the house and taking out the things from my past life, catholic ties, and that was interesting. I'll share more about that later. Number two choose God's truth. Psalm 119, 105 says your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Number three shine your light. Matthew 5, 14, 16 says you are the light of the world. Let your light shine. Number four stay in community. Nehemiah 4,. God's people rebuilt the wall together, protecting one another. Survivors heal best in community and five worship as warfare.
Speaker 1:In 2 Chronicles 20, judah's army sang praises. God himself sent ambushes against their enemies. Praise still breaks chains. The promise for overcomers. Revelation 12, 11 says they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony. This means every time we speak the truth of what God has done, no matter how dark the past. We push back the enemy's kingdom. Testimony is not just sharing a story, it's warfare. And for all who overcome, god has a promise.
Speaker 1:James 1.12 says blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. This is our birthright. Earthly inheritances can be stolen. Families can rob us of possessions, opportunities or even peace, but no one can touch our heavenly inheritance. There is a crown of eternal life laid up for every believer who stands firm, and one day we will hear the words of our Savior Well done, good and faithful servant. Matthew 25, 23.
Speaker 1:That crown, that inheritance, that reward, it cannot be stolen, silenced or sold. It belongs to the children of God. I hear God saying to us, my child, I have seen what was done in secret. I have seen the tears cried in silence. I have seen the years where lies tried to bury the truth. But I am the God who brings hidden things into the light. I am roaring over you now.
Speaker 1:The chains of control are broken. The power of silence is ending. Your story will no longer be stolen. It will be a torch lighting the way for others. I will turn what the enemy meant for evil into a weapon of freedom. You will shine and as you shine, darkness will flee. And when your race is finished, you will wear the crown of eternal life and hear my voice Closing Prayer testimony. Thank you that our inheritance is secure in you and that no one can take away the crown you've prepared for those who love you. Jesus, roar over every heart today. Break every chain, restore every voice and crown your children with eternal life. May we walk boldly as overcomers, lighting sparks of freedom wherever we go. In your mighty name we pray Amen.
