Breaking Demonic Strongholds: Freedom in the Name of Yeshua
Spiritual warfare isn't just biblical history—it's happening right now in our families, workplaces, and culture. Drawing from Hebrew insights and scriptural foundations, this episode confronts seven specific demonic spirits by name and reveals how they operate in modern society.
The spirit of perversion profanes what God made sacred, manifesting in pornography addiction, hook-up culture, and the sexualization of youth. The Jezebel spirit works through control, manipulation, and intimidation in leadership and relationships. The spirit of confusion distorts identity, targeting the distinctions between male (zakar) and female (nekevah) that God established in creation.
We expose how unforgiveness opens doors to tormenting spirits, while pride (ga'ava) deceives hearts just as it caused Lucifer's fall. Generational patterns of illness often connect to spirits of infirmity that require more than medical treatment. Finally, the legion spirit drives epidemics of despair, isolation, and self-destruction across communities.
But this isn't just about identifying darkness—it's about wielding the authority Yeshua gave us to break every chain. Through practical application of biblical principles, we pray with authority against these spirits and declare freedom over listeners' lives and family lines. The Hebrew concept of "salak" (release) becomes your weapon against torment, while "anava" (humility) defeats pride and control.
Map your own chains as you listen. What spirits have stalked your family line? What doors have been opened? The good news remains unchanged: "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). Freedom comes when we name what's hidden, repent, and stand in the authority of Yeshua's name.

Welcome to the Spark Podcast conversations that ignite kingdom impact. I'm Maria Tremato-Horwitz, and today we're stepping into the battlefield of the Spirit. This isn't surface-level encouragement. Today we are naming spirits spirits of lust, jezebel, confusion, torment, pride, infirmity and legion. We're going to shine the light of God's word, dig into the Hebrew roots and expose how these spirits are at work, even in our culture. Today, most importantly, we will declare freedom in the name of Yeshua, jesus, the Messiah, because he said in John 8, 36, if the Son sets you free, you will be free. Indeed, john 8, 36, if the son sets you free, you will be free. Indeed, as you listen, I want you to map your own chains, whether personal struggles, family curses or generational cycles. The power of God is here to break them.
Speaker 1:Number one spirit of perversion and lust Hebrew word for holy, hebrew word for holy kedosh. Set apart. Pure, sacred Lust does the opposite. It profanes what God made sacred. Jesus said in Matthew 5, 28,. Modern example pornography industry is worth billions. Music videos, sexualizing children, hookup culture, telling young people casual is normal. Perversion isn't just tolerated, it's celebrated. Freedom Repent, renounce and invite Yeshua to make you Kedosh again. Delete the apps, cut off sources of temptation and ask the Ruuk Kedosh, the Holy Spirit, to purify your desires.
Speaker 1:Number two Jezebel spirit, control, manipulation and narcissism. The name Jezebel means Jezebel. Baal exists, baal exalts. 1 Kings 21,. She lied, manipulated and killed for Naboth's vineyard. Revelation 2.20,. Jesus warns you tolerate that woman, jezebel, she misleads my servants. Modern examples include toxic leadership in workplaces, narcissistic influencers demanding control, even political systems that silence prophets and exalt false gods. The Jezebel spirit thrives in cancel culture, intimidation and manipulation. Freedom, humility, anava, that means humility, resist, control, submit to Adonai alone. Jezebel loses when you stop bowing to fear and walk in bold obedience to God.
Speaker 1:Number three spirit of homosexuality and confusion. Genesis 127, god created male and female Hebrew words. Zakar means male and nikweva. Nikheva is female. These words are not interchangeable. God designed them distinctly. Isaiah 5 20 says woe to those who call evil good and good evil. Modern examples drag queen story hour in libraries, gender confusion in schools, rainbow marketing campaigns during Pride Month. The spirit behind it is not celebration, it's distortion of Zakar and Nekevah. Freedom, identity restored in messiah. You are to sell them, elohim, the image of god. Truth replaces lies when you anchor in god's word.
Speaker 1:Number four spirit of torment and unforgiveness. The Hebrew word for forgive salak, to release to let go. Jesus' parable in Matthew 18, the unforgiving servant was handed over to tormentors. Jesus said so also my heavenly father will do to every one of you if you do not forgive your brother from your heart. Modern examples Families torn apart for decades because of grudges, church splits over offense, marriages dying under the weight of bitterness. Unforgiveness feeds torment. Freedom Speak forgiveness out loud. Break the chains by saying I salak, I release you. This shuts the door to tormentors.
Speaker 1:Number five spirit of pride and arrogance. Hebrew word for pride, ga'ava, means swelling arrogance. Obadiah 1.3 says the pride of your heart has deceived you. Pride caused Lucifer's fall in Isaiah 14.12. Modern examples social media, culture of self-worship, influencers exalting themselves like idols, nations boasting a power apart from God. Pride is celebrated today as confidence, freedom, walk in humility. Hebrew word anava meekness, lowliness. The humble are exalted, the proud are cast out.
Speaker 1:Number six spirit of infirmity. Luke 13, 11 through 13 speaks about the woman crippled for 13 years. Jesus said to her woman you are loosed. Hebrew prophecy, isaiah 53, 5, by his stripes we are healed. Modern examples generational sickness patterns diabetes, addiction, cancer, depression running through bloodlines. Doctors treat symptoms but not the spiritual roots. Freedom speak, healing in Yeshua's name. Rebuke the spirit of infirmity. Plead the blood over your body, declare his word out loud.
Speaker 1:Number seven legion, mass oppression and despair. Mark 5 speaks of the man possessed by many. Jesus asked what is your name? They replied legion, for we are many. Hebrew prophecy, joel 2.32,. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Modern examples epidemics of suicide, cutting, drug overdoses, people overwhelmed living among tombs of despair.
Speaker 1:The Legion spirit seeks to isolate, torment and destroy Freedom. Cry out the name of Yeshua, call on him and demons must flee. Legion bows to his word. Prophetic word. The spirit of the Lord says my people, I am breaking the chains of perversion, of Jezebel, of confusion, of torment, of pride, of infirmity and of legion. You will not be defined by curses of the past. I am restoring shalom, wholeness, peace, completion. Call upon me and I will answer you. The prison doors are opening, the tormentors are fleeing. My son's name is above every name.
Speaker 1:Prayer of authority. In the name of Yeshua, hamashiach, jesus, the Messiah, we command every unclean spirit lust, jezebel, homosexuality, confusion, unforgiveness, pride, infirmity, legion to leave now. You are bound, cast out and silenced by the blood of the Lamb. You are bound, cast out and silenced by the blood of the Lamb, father. We repent for opening doors. We renounce the works of darkness. We salak. We release those who wounded us.
Speaker 1:We plead the blood of Yeshua over our families and declare generational curses broken. We declare liberty to the captives, healing to the broken and freedom to the oppressed. Every chain, every curse, every torment, the broken and freedom to the oppressed. Every chain, every curse, every tormentor is destroyed by the name of Yeshua. The kingdom of God reigns Friends. Demons listen to fear, but they bow to authority and you carry that authority when you stand in the name of Yeshua. Map your chains, as you've listened today, identify the spirits that have stalked your family line and break them in prayer. Thank you for joining me on Spark Podcast.
